Central Arizona College Business Career Exploration and Entrepreneurship Seminar will offer workshops on Thursday, April, 3, 2014 at the Signal Peak Campus, 8470 N. Overfield Road in Coolidge from 9:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. The 10th Annual Signal Peak Job Fair, the largest in Pinal County is also scheduled from 9:30 A.M. – 2:00 P.M.

The Career Exploration Seminar General Session begins at 9:00 A.M. featuring guest speaker, Jim Thompson, Casa Grande City Manager in the University Building, room T116. Eighteen different workshops will be offered during the seminar.

  • Hear from Industry Guest Speakers in each of these areas: Accounting, Business, Computer Information Systems, Culinary Arts and Hotel and Restaurant Management.
  • Gather information on CAC’s business programs, careers options and opportunities. Meet the professors in each program area.
  • Listen to the three major state university representatives from ASU, NAU & UofA present transfer pathway options into business school programs, specialized programs in Culinary Arts and Hotel and Restaurant Management and computer-related areas such as Networking, Programming, Web Design or Computer Applications.
  • Improve your job interview skills by attending the workshop hosted by the Human Resource Department of Harrah’s Ak Chin Casino.
  • Gather resources on how to start a small business and listen to the guest panelists of small business owners share their experiences in entrepreneurship; hosted by SBDC.
  • Hear about the NEW, for-credit 45-hour student internship opportunity through CAC that helps connect you to the world of industry; hosted by Student Services.
  • Discover more about career areas compatible with your personality through the True Colors®, Keys to Personal Success activity.
  • Learn some new tips about professional business dress; hosted by CAC Student Leadership.
  • Consider joining the Business Club and find out more about membership, service learning, scholarships and state or national competition opportunities.

This event is hosted by the Business Club with chapters in both Collegiate DECA & PBL (college level FBLA), the Business Division and the Small Business Development Center or SBDC.

No cost to attendees – open to all high school seniors; current or incoming CAC students and community members.
